Police Officers

The City of Big Spring is offering sign-on incentives for individuals interested in becoming police officers.   The incentives and bonuses include;

$2,400.00 for relocation to Big Spring.  Within 60 days of hire.  You will be required to move to within thirty minutes of the Police Department. 

$10,000 sign-on bonus for licensed police officers

signing a 24 month commitment is $5,000

signing a 48 month commitment is $10,000

If you are not currently an officer the City will pay you while you train and even pay for your training.  If you have put yourself thru an academy within the last 12 months prior to hire, the City will reimburse the expense up to $1500.

Great health and retirement benefits!  The City participates in a Deferred Compensation Plan instead of Social Security, you can manage that retirement.
