On 08-03-2014 at 2:58am, Officers responded to the 2600 block of S. Monticello in reference to an assault. Officers contacted the complainant and learned that a known subject, Paul Hildreth w/m 06-26-69 had entered her home without consent. The suspect entered the home through an unlocked door. Both the complainant and her 6 year old daughter were sleeping on couches in the same room. The mother was partially awakened by someone touching her. When she fully awoke she saw the suspect kissing her daughter and confronted him. At that point Hildreth left the residence and Police were notified.
The complainant advised officers that they know the suspect through a friend. After officers were given a description of the suspect and his vehicle, Officer M. Bryant observed a vehicle that matched the description pass in front of the complainant’s home. Officer Bryant got in his Police unit and attempted to stop the vehicle, a bluish green pickup, but the vehicle attempted to elude the Officer. Bryant was able to stop the vehicle in the 1200 block of S. Monticello. The driver was Hildreth. He was taken into custody and transported to the Detention Center. Hildreth was charged with Burglary of a Habitation with the intent to commit Assault and Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police Officer. Hildreth is a registered sex offender. Hildreth remains in the Howard County Detention Center awaiting arraignment.
