On the 22nd of July 2014 at approximately 4:40 A.M., the Big Spring Police Department spotted the stolen vehicle on IH-20 just leaving the city limits.  Officers attempted to stop the vehicle on IH-20 at approximately the 182 mile marker.  The driver refused to stop for Officers at which time a pursuit was initiated.  The pursuit continued eastbound on IH-20 on the service roads all the way to Salem Rd, then turned back toward the city.  The pursuit lasted approximately 25 minutes before coming to an end in the 700 block of W. 15th when the stolen vehicle had wrecked.  The Big Spring Police Department police unit observed the stolen vehicle attempt to continue to evade after wrecking at which time the police unit pinned the stolen vehicle against a tree preventing the vehicle from fleeing, minor cosmetic damage to the police unit.  The driver was apprehended after a brief struggle.  The driver was identified as Lopez, Jesse Rodriguez W/M DOB 11/28/67.  No Officers were injured.  Lopez sustained minor injuries during the struggle with Officers.  Lopez was transported to Scenic Mountain Medical Center where he was treated and released back into police custody.  Lopez has been charged with Evading Police in a motor vehicle, Resisting Arrest, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Parole Violation.
